HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY

14-2-2007 A SPECIAL DAY

“LOVE IS SOMETHING IF YOU GIVE IT AWAY, say

GIVE IT AWAY, say   GIVE IT AWAY

LOVE IS SOMETHING IF YOU GIVE IT AWAY

YOU END UP HAVING MORE….”

This is the lyrics of a chorus I sang growing up. Valentine’s Day is special for all of us who has loved, been loved and still in love. But there are those who has been hurt or have their love rejected. May I wish you find true love again. Despite all life’s difficulties, let’s use this day to spread a little love or pamper ourselves : go for our favourite movie, take a walk by the beach, listen to our favourite music/songs; enjoy a cuppa. A time by the lake with nature can be so soothing; Dressed-up and get out of the house if need be or cuddle with hubby in-tow.

No matter what, we always hope tomorrow will  be a better day. Today must be well-spent.

I am just going to do that with my still handsome hunk.

    Julie,

That’s a very nice and not-too-sentimental Valentine’s Day message. After being bomblasted by all the V-Day greetings, this is a simple, light change of tone.

I plan to have dinner tonight with my best friend, she single also. When there’s no romance, sometimes plan ol’ friendship will more than suffice. It’s something you can count on.

But I wouldn’t mind ending up one day like you and your “still handsome hunk”. Happy Valentine’s, Julie! 🙂

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY TO YOU AND HOPE IT IS WONDERFULLY SPENT. HERE IN JAPAN IT IS CELEBRATE DIFFERENTLY. IT’S THE WOMEN WHO GAVE CHOCOLATES AND OTHER GIFTS TO MEN. AND THERE IS EVEN A DAY CALLED “WHITE DAY” , CREATED BY CONFECTIONERS FOR MEN TO RECIPROCATE .

  3. Kenny Mah says:

    Alice,

I would so love to be in Japan then. I have never had a girl give me anything for Valentine’s Day. But then again, I suppose one must follow the tradition of where one is.

Hmph. Japan has much more guy-friendly traditions, ya Julie?

  4. Yee, Julie says:

    Alice & Kenny,
Tks. for the Valentine wishes. In Japan, from what we heard and seen even in shows, MEN is King, Women is subservient(got such word?) to them. Kenny sure love to be there if he gets his way haha.. Where are all our girls? There’s one dream guy available here and girls still complain cannot find one. Kenny, just tell the girls “I no need expensive things, just the heart that counts”. My mother used to say ” Sai or dung’ covered their eyes”.
Alice, I’ll be there on “White day”.

    Julie,
JAPANESE WOMEN SUBMISSIVE OR SUBSERVIENT? THAT IS NOT SO LAH! DIVORCE RATE IS INCREASING NOW!

  6. wonda says:

    JULIE,
YOU MEAN YOU’RE COMING TO JAPAN SOON?

  7. Yee, Julie says:

ALICE, NOT YET LEH. JUST CHECK IT OUT FIRST , MY BUDGET ETC….

  8. Kenny Mah says:

O Julie, I really doubt modern women are that submissive or subservient. Nor would a truly modern man be attracted to a woman who does not have a mind of their own. Not interesting lah like that, must be able to share thoughts and opinions.

Of course, we still have some people like that Japanese politician calling women “breeding machines” (or words to that effect). Make us men look so dumb only!

  9. FireHorse says:

Julie, drop by to wish you Happy Chinese New Year, may all your undertakings be successful this year!!!

  10. FireHorse says:

Hei girl you still there?? Miss ya.

  11. Kenny Mah says:

Sudah lama tak jumpa blog anda ya. Pergi mana deh? 😦

  12. FireHorse says:

Julie, so glad you dropped by, are you back? Was wondering? I dropped by many times but you were not around. You doing ok? Miss you.

Don’t forget to tell me why ghosts hide behind banana trees. Curious to know. Will you write about it on your next post?
